Everything, everywhere, all at once: How can the UK achieve net zero by 2050? In partnership with EY

Live from the Tortoise Newsroom in London:
Tuesday 27 June 2023
09:00 – 10:00 GMT

“Our world needs climate action on all fronts: everything, everywhere, all at once.” was the rallying call from Antonio Guterres on the publication of the latest IPCC report.

It’s a huge task, but there’s still hope. Greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise, but we have the technology and policies needed to change course; from deploying wind and solar to energy efficiency to reducing food waste.

The private sector will play a key role in delivering net zero. Businesses must cut carbon emissions from their own operations and their supply chains. Companies will also be at the forefront of developing new markets in low-carbon goods like electric vehicles and heat pumps. Private finance will provide capital and businesses will need to retrain their workers for the net zero transition.

How can UK plc move further and faster to overcome remaining barriers to decarbonisation? How might we better monitor and report on Scope 3 emissions? What role do consumers play in this, and can business incentivise consumer habits?

This event is aimed at sustainability leaders with specific responsibility for ESG and climate transition plans within the private sector.
